Response from the owner:It his always so cool to get a review like this. We all do this Camino thing because of the smiles we put on peoples faces. As Steve Jobs once said , "if you haven't found what you love to do, then keep looking".

You will find that all of us at the Camino don't need to look any further.

We're glad you and your team all had fun.

Se you on the trails.

The first time I read about The Plett Camino was on fb early last year. Having spent many a childhood holiday in Plett and subsequently still frequent there with my husband, it holds a very special place in my heart. I felt it was a great way to experience more of the area than just the beaches and restaurants. I was prepared to do it alone last year as I didn’t have any willing walking mates, but a minor knee injury stopped me making a booking. This year rolled around, I’m not getting younger (at 63 now), so I got my amazing cousin (same age) to agree to do it with me. Booking was done, flights from Kimberley (none direct to George 😖) and we joined the team on 19 October. I am a relatively shy person, so being with such a fun, vibrant, hilariously funny group, was what I needed to chill. The accommodations, evening meals, packed lunches, wine tasting, scenery, forests, Robberg, the endless laughter, the sore toes, the endless uphills 😅, the unprecedented heat 🥵, the guides, Megan and Tiaan, who were exceptional in their roles, Megan patiently slowing her pace to make sure us older ones kept moving. My fitness program had been severely affected by business issues for the last 4 months before the hike, and my 3week crash-walking on flat roads was not enough, but I felt good enough to carry on, my cousin Sue and I encouraging each other till the end. High light - hiking Robberg, low point - NOTHING. I did the Otter trail a few short years ago, that was TOUGH, this was not a walk in the park, some physical fitness definitely required, but I am glad we did it. Well done to the organisers !! 👏🏻
Response from the owner:Wow PJ 🙂
What a stunning review ... it was really fabulous for us to see how you and S integrated into the group ... its what the Plett Camino is all about and also what hiking is about actually .. you have time to just walk and chat and take in the surroundings with no pressure to do anything else ... this is what makes the 5 days amazing... were so happy you enjoyed it ... Until ext time ... Iain and the Plett Camino Team !!
