5 Days – 5 Nights – 80 Kilometres – A fully catered, slack packing hiking trail through the forests and river valleys of the Garden Route, from the Garden of Eden near Knysna to the Keurbooms River in Plettenberg Bay.
Farmhouse-style accommodation, delicious meals and drinks, knowledgeable guides, two wine tastings and a game drive across the Plett Game reserve all included … and of course, we carry your bags !
The diversity of trails, views, friendships and experiences along the way, leave you wondering how Plett could be so close, yet feel so far away for five full days.
The hike incorporates leaf-covered single tracks below the forest canopy, to open fynbos trails, to river crossings and rock hopping along the river beds, and of course, some steepish climbs out of the valleys.

Your trip cost covers the whole trip from start to finish.
The experience is filled with surprises. Be it a welcoming G&T every afternoon, or wine and bubbles with home made cheeses, a game drive across plains teaming with animals, to home made pizza’s and red wine or a hot chocolate by the fire after a steep climb out of a cool river bed.
The food is home-made and delicious. Our lodges en route are rustic farmhouse-style bed and breakfasts. Each one is unique and homely with en suite bathrooms and crisp white sheets. Rooms are typically twin beds with two people sharing queen or king sized beds for couples. A swimming pool await weary hikers each day.

The Plett Camino provides a safe trail hiking experience for both single women and men hikers, couples, families and hiking groups. Safety and enjoyment are essential, and trails are guided by qualified guides, supported by a team of staff and off-road vehicles.

Traditionally, a Camino is a religious or spiritual pilgrimage undertaken in a foreign land over many days and long distances. With our immersive forests, and picturesque rivers, we strive to offer a similar emotional experience over a much shorter time to foster a deep sense of presence, and facilitate your own journey to self, whatever that is for you.’

The scenery on the 5 day Camino is beyond description.. Garden of Eden rain forest, to pine lands, to open savanna, rivers, unlimited views .. it goes on .. the 5 different places we overnighted were all farm house style bed and breakfasts with two that were exceptional … I loved every minute and am taking my kids on it in September…
